Calling All Student Artists In The Treasure Valley!
Every year since 1996, junior
high and high school students have competed to have their artwork
featured on the Snake River Stampede poster. First place
winner is awarded a $500 scholarship, second place receives $300
and third place receives $200. Additionally, the judges choose
others that deserve mentioning, awarding them $25 and finalist
ribbons. The Snake River Stampede has awarded $14,350 to the
winners over the past nine years. The entry must
portray a scene connected with rodeo, preferably action from
one of the seven rodeo events that can be seen at the Stampede.
They are: bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding,
tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team roping and ladies barrel
racing. It can also include bullfighting and mutton busting.
The artwork should be in a vertical format and the size
must be 24" by
36". The work may be done in acrylic, oil,
air brush or prismacalor pencil and should be done in vibrant
colors.
