Pre-Rodeo Events:

Calf Scramble
Tuesday Night and Saturday Matinee

The Calf Scramble is an event that supports the youth of the Treasure Valley that began in 1999 to encourage free enterprise, responsibility & educational opportunity. Each event involves 20 young people who compete for 10 calves released in the arena. The winners receive a $1,000 certificate for the purchase of a purebred beef or dairy heifer. The young people are supervised in raising their animals by their FFA or 4-H club leaders. During the year, the winners are encouraged to show their heifer at breed shows or county fairs.

Foundation Patrons for $1,000 for one calf will receive the following:

• Name recognition by the Rodeo Announcer during the Calf Scramble Event.
• Name recognition in the SRS Rodeo program as a Foundation Patron.
• Two rodeo tickets to one performance that will include the Calf Scramble Event.
• Periodical newsletters and progress reports during the year from the Calf    Scramble Committee.
• Opportunity to interact with the young people in the program.

Calf Scramble Friends will receive program recognition, announcer recognition (as time permits) and the periodical newsletter and reports.
